EDUCATION AND YOUTH SECTOR
The city’s Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to poor but deserving high school graduates of both public and private schools in the city. To make college education accessible to more students, the program is categorized into three, as follows:
CATEGORY A
This is for Valedictorians and Salutatorians of Public High Schools of the city. A Category A scholar receives Php5,000.00 per month or Php 50,000 per academic year. The scholar needs to maintain grades set by the Alaminos City Scholarship Board. For Academic year 2014-2015, 1st semester, the city has 51 Category A scholars.
CATEGORY B
CATEGORY C
The city’s Sangguniang Panlungsod recently approved City Ordinance 2014-04, amending the coverage of the Scholarship Program to include two (2) years Vocational or Technical Courses.

LITERACY CUM LIVELIHOOD PROGRAMS
To date, there are 47 graduates/beneficiaries for Soya Milk and Soy Products making; 54 graduates/beneficiaries for Malunggay Noodles and Cassava Polvoron Making; 50 graduates/beneficiaries for Plastic Bottle Designing; and 37 graduates/beneficiaries for Plastic Straw Bag Making.
The center was established in partnership with the Engineers without Borders -Canada through the DSWD in 2004 and its operations was turned over to the city in 2007. To date, it has served 392 graduates.
The city supported the renovation of the ALS & ALIVE classroom at Alaminos Central School. It also funds the monthly honorarium of Php 3,000 each of the two (2) Asatidz, or Muslim educators.
